Andaman from abroad
Bangkok to Andaman, sorted end to end
Bangkok travellers reach the Andamans by connecting through Chennai or Kolkata — same islands, same team on the ground the moment you land in Port Blair. Every ferry, stay and transfer is run by our own people on the islands, not resold to whoever's cheapest that week.

How to reach Andaman from Bangkok
By air
There's no direct service from Bangkok to Port Blair, so the trip runs in two legs: an international flight into Chennai or Kolkata, then a domestic connection on to the islands. We can time both legs together when you book, so the layover is a couple of hours, not an overnight stop.
Best time to visit
However you connect from Bangkok, the calendar matters more than the route. October to May is the reliable window: calm seas, every ferry running on schedule, and the best underwater visibility for diving and snorkelling. December to February is peak season and the most booked-out, so lock ferries and hotels early if you're travelling then. June to September is the south-west monsoon — Port Blair itself stays visitable, but inter-island ferries get cancelled at short notice, so it's the one stretch we'd steer a first-time visitor away from.

Essential tips for travelling to the Andamans
ATMs are common in Port Blair, sparse on the outer islands — carry enough cash for island-hopping days.
Cards work at hotels and bigger resorts; jetties, beach shacks and small vendors are cash-only.
Foreign nationals need a Restricted Area Permit — we arrange it the moment you land, no separate visa for the islands themselves.
Airtel, BSNL and Jio cover Port Blair and the main islands; expect signal gaps on the remoter ones.
Ferries can be cancelled at short notice in the June–September monsoon — worth building in a spare day either side.

Good to know
Questions travellers from Bangkok ask
How do I get from Bangkok to Port Blair?
In two flights: into Chennai or Kolkata first, then the domestic connection on to Veer Savarkar International Airport. We can time both around each other so the layover is short.
What documents do I need?
A valid passport, plus whatever visa gets you into India. Once you're in the country, Port Blair itself needs no separate visa — foreign nationals do need a Restricted Area Permit, which we arrange the moment you land.
Is Andaman worth the long journey?
For most of our international travellers, yes — it's the same reef and beach quality as Southeast Asia's better-known islands, run by a team that's actually based here rather than flown in for the season.
Does the package include international flights?
Package prices cover the islands themselves. Tell us where you're flying from and we'll help time the Bangkok → Chennai or Kolkata → Port Blair connection when you book.
Can I use my phone and get a local SIM in Andaman?
Yes — Airtel, BSNL and Jio all cover Port Blair and the main islands, with BSNL usually the most reliable in the smaller places. Signal thins out on the far-flung islands, so treat those days as a good excuse to be offline.
What should I pack?
Light, breathable clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and sturdy sandals for jetties and rocky shorelines. Bring any personal medication with you — pharmacies outside Port Blair are limited.
