How to get there You fly into Veer Savarkar International Airport in Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair). Direct flights run from Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru, and most other Indian cities connect through one of them. Choose a flight that lands before noon on day one and leaves after noon on the last day, and the whole plan fits comfortably. Best time to visit Andaman The best time to visit Andaman is from October to May, when the sea is calm, ferries run on time and the water is clearest for snorkelling. December to February is cool and pleasant and is the busiest season, so book early. From June to September the south-west monsoon brings rain and rough seas; the islands are green and quiet, but ferries and water sports can be cancelled at short notice.
